The best walking buddies
On Saturday night, Tim and Charlie went to Monster Jam at 'The Linc' in Philadelphia. Charlie is super obsessed with monster trucks at the moment so they had a blast on their 'guys night out.'
Ready for action! (With proper ear protection, of course)
This is cool! And loud!
Whoa
Father/Son time is the best
Maddie and I had a quiet girls' evening together. We went grocery shopping, got Mexican takeout, then went home and watched her current favorite movie, 'Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy.'
My littlest girlfriend
Maddie goes to bed around 7:00-7:30pm so once she was down for the night, I worked on filling Easter eggs and putting together the kids' baskets. I have so much fun putting their baskets together. Both kids got bubbles, chalk, 'big kid' character underwear, balls, and cute new water bottle/sippy cups. To Charlie's I added a few monster trucks, some ninja turtle socks, a Carson Wentz POP and a Bryce Harper shirt. Maddie got new Elmo jammies and a mini Elmo. I filled eggs with their favorite candies- Reese's peanut butter cups and M&Ms.

A basket for Princess Madeline
...And one for Prince Charles
In the morning, the kiddos saw their baskets and the first thing Charlie noted was that the Easter Bunny made a HUGE MESS! I had scattered the eggs all over their playroom and apparently he thought it was quite a disaster - haha. They had a blast opening baskets and uncovering all of their treats. As a parent, this is one of the BEST moments of the year. There is nothing better than watching the joy and happiness in their little faces.
The Easter Bunny made quite a mess- whoops
Underwear? Cool!
Now what do we have here......
Yay!
Look what I got!
Charlie! Look!!!
Later in the day, Charlie helped me bake a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing....
Expert cake baker
...and Maddie wore her VERY FIRST LILLY! Cue all the tears- my girl looked as cute as can be!
I mean....I can't even....
Cuteness overload
Tim grilled burgers, chicken, and veggies on the grill for Easter dinner and we enjoyed Chef Charlie's cake afterwards. 'Twas a perfect Easter with my favorite peeps - I just want to freeze time and savor all of these precious moments!
Sounds like the perfect Easter weekend. Everyone got to do their special things. The parenting dance of divide and conquer! Happy Spring!
