Madeline Lately

Miss Madeline is 2.5 now and she is really growing and changing every day. She is as sweet as pie and spends most of her days loving on all of her baby dolls and crafting her little heart out. She is the ultimate nurturer- whenever she hears me turn off the shower she comes running to literally wrap me up in a towel just like I wrap her up after a shower or bath. If you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she replies "A Mommy" and judging by the way she cares for her baby dolls (who she named Katie and Hannah) she will be an amazing one.

We are working on potty training her (OK, Tim is working on the potty training....I admit stuff like that is not my strong suit) and she's slowly making progress. She's not as "into it" as Charlie was so sometimes it's a hard sell. She does get an M&M if she goes on the potty so she enjoys working for some 'choc-it'.

Madeline is very definitive on what she likes and dislikes. She has strong opinions on what she wears (which 99% of the time is a v formal dress.....) and I have a feeling I will be spending the next 16 years arguing over what is and what isn't "seasonally appropriate attire." We had her wear sweatpants one day when it was cold and she sobbed her eyes out while saying, "dat NOT pretty."

Sweet girl is a VERY picky eater. Right now she is obsessed with plain waffles. She'll eat any veggie and loves eggs but won't touch meat (unless it's a chicken finger....). She loves chocolate milk (carnation instant breakfast) as a treat and is equally as obsessed with carrots as she is Dove Promises. We don't wonder where it came from as this is basically how I eat but we are working on expanding her palette.

Maddie is super petite and always has been. She's 27 lbs and is only now just outgrowing her 18m clothing. The saying "though she be but little, she is fierce" 100% describes our Maddie. She is tiny but mighty- she is deceivingly so strong and athletic. Sis even gives brother a run for his money from time to time.

She adores her big brother, whom she affectionately calls 'Char-Char'. When he's asleep or goes somewhere, she asks for him non-stop. In fact, she often does what we refer to as a roll-call: "Where's Char-Char? Where's Ellie? Where's Daddy?" She likes to know where all of her fam is at all times.

Simply-put, Maddie-Girl is PURE MAGIC. She goes to bed around 7:30-7:45 each night and I swear we all spend the remainder of the night missing her. She is the sweetest little peanut who is always bursting with so much love and so many opinions. She is going to start nursery school in the fall and I am already weepy about it. I could spend all-day everyday with her because she is just SO SO SWEET and a total treasure we thank God for every day. ♥
