All About Charlie

I thought it might be fun to make a post about what each kiddo is up to and interested in these days so that we can look back someday and read about things we may have forgotten in the chaos of day-to-day life.

3.5 year-old Charlie

Charlie is three and a half years old and fluctuates back and forth between wanting to be an independent Big Kid and a baby who gets extra cuddles and nurturing. We cherish both! More and more when we get in the car, he opts to buckle himself into his own car seat by declaring "I do it all by myself!"

Always my baby

He is learning so much about the world around him and blows us away every day with new things. The other day at the grocery store he walked several paces ahead and said "Far!" then ran up to me and said "Close!" and did that a few times. I love watching him learn and take pride in his new discoveries like that.

Tim took him to a local park on Saturday to ride his bike and scooter. I just LOVE these pictures- he looks like he had a blast. He came home happy and exhausted!

Go, Charlie, Go!

Charlie also really likes to help me cook, bake, and make lunches. I give him some small Ziploc baggies and a bowl of fruit or veggies and he helps fill the bags for us to take in our lunches. He loves to help and it is so sweet that he has such a heart to help contribute.

We recently registered Char for preschool for the fall - He is going to go to a local Catholic school three days per week. I think he is going to LOVE it there and he is so excited for his big school adventure. Whenever we drive by the school he points it out and shouts "Dat my 'kool!"

He LOVES sports and he and Tim play and watch a ton of lacrosse, baseball, golf, basketball, and soccer. He plays lacrosse in our backyard nonstop and if it's not nice outside he is playing in the playroom. He's a truly dedicated athlete :) hehe

He shoots...he scores!

Charlie is truly the BEST big brother, too. He really watches out for Maddie and is very sweet with her. He gives her tons of hugs (whether she wants them or not) and every night helps to put her to bed by kissing her and telling her "Goodnight, baby." If we reprimand Maddie for something, he always comes running to her defense and gets mad at us. They are teaming up together already!

Hugs for sissy

Little guy, we love watching you navigate your world and feel beyond blessed God chose us to be your parents. You, my love, will do great things!
