Life Lately

Life in our house has been crazy lately. For about six weeks in February and March, we rotated illnesses among all four of us. From stomach bugs (yes, plural) to pink eye to strep throat and more, we had it ALL. Even Ellie (the goldendoodle) had an ear infection. It was brutal juggling everything and the countless doctor/pharmacy visits in addition to all of the additional laundry that the sickies bring. Now that everyone is healthy again, we are back to business as usual (thankfully).

Even "Sixer" the monkey was sick

Charlie is really (really) into sports. He and Tim have been having a lot of fun together going to watch some of their favorite teams play. In the past few months, they have seen the Flyers (hockey) and Wings (lax) play and have gone to a bunch of high school and college lax games. Most recently, the boys went to see U Penn v. Princeton lax. It was chilly but fun. Charlie has a favorite player on each team and is really excited to go see Bryce Harper play in a few weeks at a Phillies game.

Maddie is getting big fast and loves dress up, her baby dolls, Elmo, puzzles, and books. She is usually pretty content playing on her own BUT she does not like me out of her sight when I am home. I love hanging out with my little girlfriend and she makes me laugh constantly. Like her mama, girlfriend wears her emotions on her sleeve so you always know what she is thinking.

Maddie reading to me and making sure I am paying attention. Bossy lady!

For St Patty's Day a few weeks ago, Charlie and Maddie had green velvet upcakes (upside-down cupcakes) from our favorite local cafe/bakery, Dixie Picnic. They were super delish and super messy and it only seemed appropriate to have an overload of sugar and green food dye to celebrate the day.

Yummy treats

Watching these two kiddos grow up together is the blessing of a lifetime. They both have strong personalities and we are constantly amused, challenged, and grateful to be their parents.

Sibling love
