Christmas Magic

Every time I reminisce about this past Christmas, I am completely in awe of the pure magic in seeing Christmas through a child's eyes. Back when we were praying to be blessed with children of our own, one of the things I would close my eyes and fantasize about was a Christmas morning filled with excitement and wonder. Reality managed to surpass even my wildest dreams this year watching my two sweet babes walk down the stairs and squeal with excitement over what Santa had brought for them.
For as long as I can remember, we have had cake or cupcakes after dinner on Christmas Eve while we sing 'Happy Birthday' to Jesus. It's such a fun and special tradition that Charlie in particular is really fond of and such a nice reminder of WHY we celebrate Christmas. The kids were so giddy with excitement on Christmas Eve that they both actually begged to go to bed early, so our house was as quiet as a church mouse by 7:30pm.
Santa and Mrs. Claus had every intention of "not overdoing it" but honestly it's so hard. Charlie is four, Maddie is two, and they are at SUCH fun ages and have developed so many interests over the course of the last year. Santa brought Maddie lots of Frozen toys (she looooves Anna and Elsa) and Charlie was so excited for the Flyers hockey goal set and basically every Monster Truck ever made ;)
The BIG shared gift that Santa brought was a bounce house - a massive (bigger than we originally thought....) bounce house that takes up half the basement. It's a special treat to take out the bounce house for a jump sesh and we are hoping it saves our sanity over the cold winter months!
Christmas was an amazing time to step back, enjoy family, and truly be able to count our many many blessings. Hope y'all had a wonderful Christmas, too!

♥XOXO
