Life Lately

It's been a busy week around here but I wanted to document some sweet moments:


We did a little hike at a local park on Sunday and it was SO much fun. Charlie was our 'hike leader' and enjoyed leading the way (it was a circle path around a large pond - about a mile total which ended up being perfect).

On Monday, both kids went to the pediatrician. Charlie had his 4 year-old "well child" visit and both kids got flu shots; Maddie was un-phased but Charlie was disgruntled at the shots.

Doctor's office? Let's do this!

I ordered Maddie this 'Frozen' nightgown and let's just say it's all she wants to wear (day and night):

Messy hair, don't care! We were running late this am! haha

Tim and I had a hankerin' for some really good eggplant so I whipped up these "short stacks" of eggplant parm with a slight shmear of ricotta in between - soooo good:

So delish! (I've never been known to go light on the moz....)

This morning, I walked into Maddie's room and asked what she was up to. She responded "I make-a my bed." Welp, I just about melted. This is something we have never specifically shown her how to do so I thought it was too cute:

And then tucking her baby in ever-so-sweetly; brings tears to my eyes how nurturing she is

We switched out our old front porch light for something fresh and new and I am loving it. I wanted better light on the front porch before we get trick-or-treaters next week:

Ta Da! Let there be light! (Next up: cleaning that brick!)
